It was 1968 when our founder noticed that there were no companies "out there" that specialized in working on water heaters. At the time it was Sears, plumbers or your Uncle Joe that came to mind right after you noticed a puddle under your cold, water heater tank. He thought that Sears, who contracted their work out (he had done their work as a subcontractor) had poor service and offered only their brand of water heater, plumbers tended to charge an "arm and a leg" and weren't famous for great service in general either, and "Uncle Joe" would always want a favor in return and might put the pressure relief valve on the cold water inlet.
The concept our founder would develop included training technicians to a high standard partly by concentrating their energies on only one thing - water heaters. They wouldn't be tested on cleaning drains or the proper setting of a toilet but they would know the intricacies of water heaters inside and out. These technicians would be given trucks that would fit their needs; no tangle of sewer cables but they would have every conceivable part that a person could require to install or repair a water heater perfectly. The concept included service like none that had ever been offered for water heater repair or replacement. Telephones would be answered by real, live experienced people at every hour of the day or night, every day of the year.
Another component to the developing company was the creation of an Emergency Shutdown Instruction Sticker that would eventually be direct mailed to millions of homes. This self adhesive sticker was designed to assist homeowners in shutting down and draining their heaters to avoid damage to their homes from water or gas leakage and as a means of connecting to our services. Here we are now 43 years later; perhaps our commitment to fast service, high quality products and unbeatable prices has been what has us still going strong as America's favorite water heater specialist.

Really happy with the service we got. The 20+ year old water heater was
dead. They gave us a reasonable estimate on the phone. The job was a
little more complex due to access but they stayed within the quoted
range despite spending about 4 hours on the job. Steve was great.
Explained what he was doing, kept the space clean... He had to move
some heating ducts a little to get the water heater in and when he left,
all was in better shape than before he got there. Great job.
