Well, it’s almost the New Year and that means many people will be reflecting upon all that happened this year and also looking towards the next year and what may happen then. And, yes, that also means a whole new round of New Year’s resolutions that will likely be broken by mid-February at best, but we’ll talk about those in a little bit.
As the California Wildfire Season continues to rage, it was just announced by Cal Fire that the Rocky Fire, which was located in Lake County near Clear Lake in Northern California, was caused by a faulty water heater. The Rocky Fire began on July 29th and burned nearly 70,000 acres over a two-week period and it destroyed 43 homes and caused hundreds of residents to evacuate. Evidently, the water heater was located in an outside structure and was surrounded by flammable liquids, which helped cause the fire to really get moving and growing.
One of the many bonuses about working here at Water Heaters Only, Inc is that we occasionally get to get out and interact with current and potential clients. Sometimes it’s when we attend a lunch hosted by one of the many groups with are members of such as NARPM, sometimes it’s when we go out on one of our many “cookie drives” (that’s where we literally drop off cookies as a way to say “Thanks!” to those who have used us before and to those who may call on us in the future) and sometimes it’s when we get to attend functions like the many California Apartment Association Expos that take place throughout the year.
2015 Water Heater Energy Efficiency Changes
It’s almost April 16th and that means the new Department of Energy guidelines will be going into effect soon. These new guidelines were instituted as a way to reduce emissions and reduce energy usage, but they are having the unintended effect of raising the cost of water heaters and water heater installations.
Here is our lastest Review Round Up vlog. This is where we read recent review from our customers so you can have a better understanding of how we do business at Water Heaters Only, Inc.

We recently scheduled an appointment for a Phoenix 80 gallon electric water heater diagnosis. The homeowner was hoping that it would be a simple repair. We were happy to attempt to fix the water heater and save the homeowner some money. However after accessing the situation it was clear that the Phoenix 80 gallon electric water heater was rusted through the tank and there was no way to repair the water heater.
Most often homeowners aren't aware that a water heater failure is about to happen. Have you come home to water running from under the garage or a soppy carpet? While you can't be for sure when your water heater failure will occur, there are signs that you can keep an eye out for.

This residential 100 gallon gas water heater is installed with a recirculation pump to provide instant hot water to the homeowner. As soon as the homeower opens a faucet or shower in the home hot water comes out. No more waiting for hot water to arrive while gallons of good water goes down the drain. Having a recirculation pump installed with your water heater can make a complete difference with the amount of time you have to wait to receive hot water.
